Frequently Asked Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • My goal is to provide you exceptional service, care and encouragement by choosing exercises tailored to your individual and specific needs. I find areas of your body that have muscle tightness or imbalances and work to improve postural issues and then choose exercises that work safely with those issues. When clients begin to achieve more freedom of movement, greater strength and better alignment, they’re often surprised to also find a decrease or elimination of their “aches and pains” as well.

  • Even with a challenging work out, the Pilates equipment is designed so that you will not feel sore the way you might with other workouts or equipment - that is part of the genius of Pilates! I hope clients feel sore enough to tell that they’ve exercised but NOT sore enough to be reaching for the Advil bottle.

  • Wear comfortable exercises clothes that are not loose. Yoga pants and tops are ideal. Please do not wear heavy body creams, bug spray or large jewelry as these things can damage the upholstery of the machines. You’ll also want to wear sticky socks but I loan them for your first visit and provide a premium free pair if you sign up for a larger package. The sticky socks help you with your grip and also keep the equipment more sanitary.

  • My studio is located inside the lower level of my home at 4601 Winterbrook Court. (There is NOT a Pilates sign outside) Clients park in the cul-de-sac or driveway behind the 2 door garage door. When I am ready to work with you, I open the garage door and am waiting for you at the door inside the garage. Clients enter through the garage and there is a mudroom for coats and shoes/boots.

  • Pilates training is time consuming. To be fully certified on all Pilates apparatus and with the Pilates National Certification Alliance takes thousands of hours. Many Pilates instructors do not have this certification. Additionally, Pilates equipment is very expensive. All good Professional Reformer machines begin at about $4500 and up (not including the tower or accessories). My own studio is fully equipped with 2 reformers, 2 towers , 2 chairs, a ladder barrel, 3 Arc barrels and numerous other props like balls, blocks, bands weights. This ensures I have many apparatus and exercises to choose from that will work your body in multiple different ways. Additionally, it allows me to choose ample exercises for people who may have physical limitations.

  • Clients receive the most benefit and the greatest cost savings by committing to a year. Perhaps most importantly….clients underestimate the changes they will see and feel in a year and overestimate changes they think they’ll see in a month. Plus the longer we work together, the more I/we understand how to best tailor your appointments to benefit your body.

  • You are welcome to cancel/reschedule your appointment to another open time in my schedule.

I would appreciate cancellations before 24 hours and as early as possible. Since Covid I do not charge for cancellations BUT you might have a difficult time rescheduling your appointment because my schedule is often full. However, it is your responsibility to use your package before the package expiration. All my packages have a bit of extra time built in to anticipate for vacations and appointments but the package duration will not be extended except for extraordinary situations.

If there are 3 late cancellations you may be asked to change your time slot.

  • You will be charged for 2 months of a 12 month membership to cancel a membership early.

  • 1 Month Video memberships can be cancelled online at any time. Annual pre-paid memberships cannot be cancelled.
